Apple Orchard Pretend Play

It is September and my preschoolers and I are enjoying our Apple Thematic Unit!  I created an Apple Orchard in our Dramatic Play Center.  It debuted today and my kids absolutely adored it!  Keep on reading to learn more about what is in our Apple Orchard!

To start I bought the Market Stance from Ikea (which is no longer being sold), but it didn't last long.  Now I use the Melissa and Doug Market Stand. To make an apple tree, I cut a tree top shape out of cardboard and painted it green.  Using a glue gun, I glued velcro to the tree top and to some apples I bought at Michaels.  My preschoolers love picking apples and putting them in the basket.

I also provided a cash register and plenty of quarters.  On the side of the market stand I placed a small pocket chart and placed apple themed vocabulary cards.  I love the way the this dramatic play center turned out!

If you'd like to get the graphics used in this center, you can find them in my Apple Orchard Pretend Play Props packet.
